This playlist empowers young people to navigate the complex media landscape, engage in meaningful and respectful conversations, and access and share reliable information.


This playlist is designed for you to become a more informed and engaged citizen, capable of leading initiatives that promote media literacy and constructive dialogue in your community. It supports and prompts learning, recognition and actions contributing to the European Youth Goal #4 Information & Constructive Dialogue.

By completing playlist activities you will be able to influence local decisions, making your voices heard on issues that matter most to you. Take an active role in shaping your life and communities to ensure that your perspectives are considered in local policymaking.

How partners and organisations in Cities of Learning can support you:

This activity will help you develop the skills needed to critically assess the information you encounter and to create responsible media content.


Join interactive workshops where you can learn to spot reliable and unreliable sources, practise fact-checking, and create your own media content that reflects ethical journalism standards. Participate in fun quizzes and games designed to boost your media literacy.

Watch the video where Evaldas Rupkus, project manager and trainer at Deutsche Welle Akademie gives a quick overview of what is Media and Information Literacy and why it's important for youth work.



Now, take action!

You’ll leave with stronger media literacy skills and the confidence to create and share responsible media content by taking part in the following activities in your city:
  • Join media workshops: Learn from local journalists and media content experts about media literacy, ethical reporting, and storytelling techniques.
  • Organise a digital scavenger hunt where you and your peers search for both reliable and unreliable media sources online. Compare findings, identify key traits of trustworthy information, and learn how to verify content in a competitive, team-based setting.
  • Produce media content and ask for peer reviews: Create your media content and exchange feedback with others to improve your work.
