Contenu
We humans often shape our lives based on inspiring examples. In the past, firefighters, doctors or accountants inspired us on how and what we should learn. These were the archetypes that shaped our lives in the past. Today, we need a set of new archetypes that will inspire us to build pathways to learning, civic participation and careers for a very different future.
The Institute for the Future’s Global Youth Skills research offers nine archetype profiles from the future. They: - are innovators;
- use unique qualities and abilities;
- develop specific strategies;
- build paths using a variety of resources;
- lead new pathways to future learning, civic engagement and careers.
Now, choose one, two or even three archetypes that best match who you are now or who you want to be in the future.
To get a badge for this activity:
- get to know the archetypes of the future and choose the profiles that inspire you;
- if you have a team, share your results and talk about them;
- upload an image, photo, print screen or file with selected archetypes and reflect on the badge task.

The Network of Cities of Learning offers this learning activity within the capacity-building project ‘Youth co-design learning, civic and career pathways’. We are grateful to the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme for co-funding support for this project.
