Digitale competentie gaat over het zelfverzekerd, kritisch en verantwoord gebruik maken van digitale technologieën voor educatieve, professionele en maatschappelijke doeleinden. Het is van cruciaal belang dat we deze vaardigheden ontwikkelen, aangezien we leven in een steeds digitalere wereld waarbij technologieën een belangrijke rol spelen in ons dagelijks leven. Het omvat niet alleen het begrijpen van informatie- en datageletterdheid, communicatie en samenwerking, mediageletterdheid en digitale contentcreatie, maar ook belangrijke aspecten zoals veiligheid (waaronder digitaal welzijn en competenties in verband met cyberbeveiliging), kwesties in verband met intellectueel eigendom, problemen oplossen en kritisch denken.
Het beheersen van digitale competenties stelt ons in staat om meer geïnformeerde beslissingen te nemen en effectief te communiceren in de digitale wereld, wat onmisbaar is in onze huidige samenleving.
