We are glad to be hosting this Study Visit Good practices of validation and recognition of 21st century skills for adult education programmes in The Netherlands and Belgium.
This Study Visit is part of the project 21st century skills recognition for adults in Cities of Learning.
We refer in this project to 21st century skills, which we see as a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits and character qualities for people in ensuring well-being, civic engagement and employment. This set of skills also include digital skills and literacies necessary to harness the digital transformation.
Programme
This Study Visit will have a 4 day (+ 2 travel days) programme. The topic of the visit will be exchange of best practices on validation and recognition of 21st century skills in adult education programmes.
You will have the chance to meet a number organisations from Belgium, The Netherlands, Portugal, Curacao, and Lithuania. We will use the Cities of Learning platform and use open badges to recognise 21st century skills.
The first half of the visit will take place in Rotterdam and Breda in the Netherlands, the second part in Ghent and Hoogstraten in Belgium. The hosting partners will take care of organisational and logistic aspects of the study visit.
What we want to achieve
- To exchange best practices of 21st century skills validation and recognition in participating countries.
- To identify specific needs and opportunities to validate and recognise 21st century skills in adult education programmes implemented by partners.
- To learn how to design validation and recognition pathways using Cities of Learning platform.
- To build working relations between members of the partner organisations.
Participants
- staff from partner organisations who will support locally to assure a qualitative implementation of the project.
- Local organisations cooperating or having the wish to start cooperating with partner organisation(s) and Cities of Learning.
Potential participants need to complete this online registration form which will include a description of motivation, needs and expectations relating to the project and study visit.
Accommodation venue
We will stay from 9 till 11 January 2023 in a hotel in Rotterdam. From 11 till 14 January our home base will be in Antwerp. The Erasmusplus budget is based on having two people sharing a room, with single beds. It is possible to have a single room but when you choose this there will be additional costs of about €125 per night.
Travel budget
This Study Visit is co-financed by ErasmusPlus and therefore hosting and travel is co-financed by ErasmusPlus. We will reimburse travel costs based on real expenses and Erasmus+ distance band. Travel costs based on the real costs, not exceeding the following limits per person taking into account distance band values:
Lithuania - € 275,-
Netherlands - € 20,- for distance band 10-99 km and € 180 for distance band 100-499 km
Belgium - € 20,- for distance band 10-99 km and € 180,- for distance band 100-499 km
Portugal - € 275,-
Curacao - € 820,-
Travel reimbursement will be done only when participants provide all (ticket, invoice, boarding passes, etc.) travel documents.
